Our Legacy
Viking Lumber Company is located on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. Viking is a family-owned and operated, multi-generational sawmill employing 48 year-round Alaskans and 90 contractor employees. We take pride in producing high-quality lumber that is utilized as soundboards by all the largest piano companies in the world, acoustic guitar tops, space exploration, national security, high-end architectural projects, boats, aircraft, doors, garage doors, window trim, outdoor fencing, gazebos, staircases, railing, and trim. Our commitment to excellence and consistency has established us as a leader in the industry.
Our Commitment
At Viking Lumber, we use sustainable forestry practices and skilled employees to get the highest value from each log. Our mission is to supply premium lumber products that meet the highest standards of quality and durability, while conserving our forests in perpetuity. We use our by-products to heat local schools and the local swimming pool. The on-site Viking brick plant compresses and dries sawdust to become green energy used in homes throughout SE Alaska.

We offer the highest quality Sitka spruce for the soundboards used in all largest piano makers in the world, including Steinway & Sons, Yamaha, Boston and Kawai. Our lumber is used in acoustic guitar tops by the largest guitar manufacturing companies in the US.
